Chevrolet Captiva - Versatile & spacious trunk space

Great design should also deliver practical benefits

Flexible seating options mean that the Captiva is versatile. With the third row of seats folded down, there's up to 769 L of trunk space. Fold the second and third rows down and it's a huge 1,577 L – one of the largest in the SUV class.

Advanced safety performance – now with NCAP 5 Stars

The Captiva boasts six airbags – dual front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger and curtain airbags for the outer rear passengers. Three-point seat belts with belt tensioners and belt force limiters look after those in the front seats, while ISOFIX anchor points are fitted to the outer seats of the second row, to facilitate the quick and secure fitting of child seats.

Keeping you reassured on the road is also a priority. Good to know, then, that a Traction Control System is keeping you planted, that Electronic Stability Control is eliminating over and under-steer, and that a Brake Assist System is ready and waiting to reduce braking distances in the event of an emergency. All these safety features come as standard.

Another smart safety first for the Captiva is Hill Start Assist which helps to prevent "roll-back" on hill starts.

Descent control system

Driving down-hill is easier, too, thanks to our Descent Control System. It's a technology that automatically slows the vehicle on steep gradients, which means you don't have to keep such a heavy foot on the brake pedal.

Under that sculpted hood, you’ll find one of three powerful engines – engines that boast the latest manual or automatic six-speed transmissions for a powerful, yet smooth ride.

Transmission and drive options

Choose a manual or automatic with an override. Choose a front or on-demand four-wheel drive configuration. Whichever route you go, know that the standard Captiva chassis has been honed for enhanced vehicle dynamics, improved cornering, and impressive roll characteristics, for an enjoyable drive every trip.

Petrol engines

The Captiva engines feature a number of technological improvements. Amongst them, Variable Valve Timing on our dual overhead cam 2.4 litre ECOTEC petrol model, which helps to deliver a maximum of 190Kw and 288Nm in just 10.1 seconds.

Diesel engines

Our diesel offerings won't disappoint either. Our new turbo-charged 2.2 L outputs a 135Kw's and 400Nm torque. Not only are our diesel units powerful, but they also have CO2 emissions that fall below taxation thresholds.
